I have been procrastinating as to whether I should make a second pass on this week’s challenge.
As a kid, I have been running happily around, chasing butterflies and dragonflies.
My first understanding of “delicate” came from finally catching a dragonfly and touching its wings with my fingers . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
They are indeed delicate and beautiful.
Thank you Darla!
Love the detail on the wings!
I have always been fascinated by the transparency in the wings!
Nice work!
Thank you very much!
Lovely and delicate!!!
Thank you Clanmother!
Good post!
Thank you friendlytm!
Michael, I have nominated your blog for a Reality Blog award. Your photos from all around the world are inspirational. Information about the award is here: http://theeternaltraveller.wordpress.com/2012/12/21/thank-you-to-my-blogging-friends/
Hi the eternal traveller, thanks so much for the nomination which I understand is an important award. I have decided not to pursue or accept any nomination / award during my retirement and for this reason, I have already turned down all similar awards. Knowing that my blog is read in many places of the world (150 countries) is already my biggest reward. With regret, I have to decline the nomination. Thank you once again for the nomination which is very much appreciated! Regards, Michael
That’s fine. I understand completely.
Thank you for your understanding!
Great shot! I too chose a dragonfly as my submission!
Your dragonfly looks great too!
Good, that you did so, dear Michael! What an amazing creature. Beautiful photo! Happy Holidays
Hi happyface313, they are an amazing creature with big eye and transparent wings! Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Nice photo made with love
Did require a bit of patience to get this photo. Regards, Michael
Fabulous picture . . . as always!
Thank you Rusha!
So glad you did not pass on this one..another awesome photo! Any special lens or technique with your camera?
Hi Oppla, just a camera with a zoom lens and a lot of patience! Regards, Michael
Beautiful. I love the neutral color background that makes the dragonfly stand out, and the sharpness and clarity of the photo.
I like the photo for the same reasons. Hope you are enjoying your time in Panama which I understand has some of the happiest residents in the world!
Thank you, yes! There are some happy residents in this house who agree with that poll.
Truly delicate and beautiful !!!!
Thank you Viveka!
A very good picture and theme for delicate. Must be difficult to capture a dragon fly on camera. I would like to have a look at the recent pictures I posted on Lisbon, Portugal over here:
http://bibliojunkie.wordpress.com/2012/12/19/lisbon-the-city-of-early-ocean-explorers/
Your photos are great, they bring back memories of my travels in Portugal!
Fantastic detail!
Thank you Ed, Happy Holidays!
Very delicate, invokes the feeling of a sepia B&W, although clearly in color.
I was fortunate to have a plain and slightly biege backround for the picture. As you said, this is a color picture, not sepia or B&W. Merry Christmas!
Perfect moment of calm. You have the vision. jk
Thank you the secret keeper!
Wonerful photo
Thank you Gayle!
The wings look so fragile. Perfectly done …..
I have always wondered how these wings can be so fragile, transparent and yet powerful enough to lift the
dragonflies. Thank you!
You’ve perfectly captured “delicate” in this beautiful photo!
Thank you hopesquires!
Wow you’ve been able to do that! That’s awesome. I’m so clumsy that they always fly away… Very successful photo, I love it!
Thank you for the comment. Merry Christmas!
I love your dragonfly photo. I took one years ago when it landed on my lap. Have you seen the Spanish movie “Pan’s Labyrinth”? In it the dragonfly is really a fairy. http://bmoreenergy.wordpress.com
Yes, it is quite difficult to take their photo as they don’t stay at any place too long. The movie you talked about seems quite interesting. however, there are only a small number of Spanish films shown here so haven’t seen it. Best wishes for 2013!
Very Cool Shot!
Thank you!
