Hi Raunak, thanks for the kind comment. I have also posted this photo and the colored version in Travel UK under Brighton. I like the clouds, the waves and the atmosphere. Best regards, Michael

Lived in Brighton for 6 years … love piers!! Only lived 10 min walk from this one. A fantastic place, Brighton. Miss it like made at times, but I hate the slippery beach pebbles. here is my post about one of nicest towns in UK – http://wp.me/p293Pw-1jv
Wow, love your post’s pictures and very detailed description and guide to Brighton, this indeed is one of the nicest towns in the UK! I understand one other pier in Brighton is now partially damaged, what a shame. Thanks for the comment, Viveka! Michael
Yes, it burned down … when I had moved to Belfast – I think I wrote about that … and that Chris Eubank (the boxer) wanted to buy the Western Pier before it burned down and fix it up, but he wanted to live on it .. that was his condition – never went through and some years later it went on fire – still some left and they are still talking about rebuilding it. I don’t think it will happen.
Thanks Viveka for the prompt response and information! Michael
Michael do you know that the “METRO” has a worldwide holiday photo compensation going on just now. The biggest in the world. Here is the Swedish link – http://metrophotochallenge.com/ – just go for it. There must be an English link somewhere too.
The wind was not that strong when I was there but the waves kept crushing in . I was glad to take this photo as it captures the atmosphere at the time. Thanks & regards, Michael
Hi ailsapm, thank you for the invitation, I have just submitted a photo on Foliage. Thanks & regards, Michael
A lovely photo of Brighton Pier 🙂 Brighton is my home town so close to my heart. The West Pier is almost gone completely – just a skeleton of metal left out at sea. Sadly I don’t think it will ever be restored – I used to visit that pier with my grandparents when I was a child so happy memories.
Really nice antique feel.
Thenk you Harold!
Outstanding shot.
Thank you Charles!

You have grasped the essence of the picture, thanks for the comment! Michael
Another lovely photo Michael. The day we were on Brighton Pier it was so windy I thought I was going to be blown into the sea! Carol.
