    • Wow, love your post’s pictures and very detailed description and guide to Brighton, this indeed is one of the nicest towns in the UK! I understand one other pier in Brighton is now partially damaged, what a shame. Thanks for the comment, Viveka! Michael

    • Yes, it burned down … when I had moved to Belfast – I think I wrote about that … and that Chris Eubank (the boxer) wanted to buy the Western Pier before it burned down and fix it up, but he wanted to live on it .. that was his condition – never went through and some years later it went on fire – still some left and they are still talking about rebuilding it. I don’t think it will happen.

    • The wind was not that strong when I was there but the waves kept crushing in . I was glad to take this photo as it captures the atmosphere at the time. Thanks & regards, Michael

  2. A lovely photo of Brighton Pier 🙂 Brighton is my home town so close to my heart. The West Pier is almost gone completely – just a skeleton of metal left out at sea. Sadly I don’t think it will ever be restored – I used to visit that pier with my grandparents when I was a child so happy memories.
