Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflections (1)

There is a place where reflections are  a common place. A few thousand metres up from sea level where there are lots of lakes, where mountains are green and water is clear and placid, you can find reflections almost everywhere.041

This is up in the mountains of JiuZhiGou, China where lake water has a high concentration of calcium carbonate and mountains rise steeply from the lakes reflecting in the water. The water surface behaves like a mirror ( in fact one of the lakes is known as the mirror lake because of its silvery surface).056

The tranquil and picturesque scenes in JiuZhaiGou helps one to transition from the external environment to the inner self.066

The serenity and remoteness of the place make it suitable for internal reflections . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .065

  1. Absolutely majestic. Your photo’s evoke a feeling of not only reflection by I’m humbled by the natural beauty. Did you know there’s also a ‘Mirror Lake’ in Yosemite National Park, California USA.
    Here’s a view

I think it’s quite extraordinary that two similar scenes of beauty can be enjoyed 1/2 a world apart. So glad you’ve shared your views.

    • Hi, thank you for the very encouraging comment. It has been raining for the last two weeks which mean I cannot have any major outdoor activities but stay at home posting. Hope my photos don’t disappoint. Regards, Michael

    • I like taking photos which convey the peacefulness so that I can take home and peruse them whenever I like, of course, also to share with my readers. Thank you Amy, Michael
