Quiet Corners at Plitvice Lakes, Croatia

Last year, about this time, we travelled through the beautiful country of Croatia. We were delighted by the beautiful views of the green scenery and waterfalls of Plitvice Lakes in Croatia.CIMG1393

It was early spring and leaves have just turned green.

We particularly enjoyed resting at some quiet corners of the Plitvice lakes  where the reflections in the water sent us also into deep reflections.CIMG1394

We were sort of entranced viewing the green foliage and the reflections.

  1. That color of green reminds me of the green we get in the Pacific Northwest (Seattle) from lakes fed by glacier run-off…one of my favorite things. Thanks for sharing Michael.

  2. I love your pictures. For some reason even though I am listed as “Following” you blog, I never get e-mail alerts of new post. I’m going t fix that… Now.

  3. Lovely photos! I remember visiting Plitvice lakes quite often as a child. It was somehow always a resting place for my family when we went to the Adriatic coast for summer holidays. I remember the feelings of serenity and awe this place inspired. Thank you for bringing back some beautiful memories of my childhood.
    Have a great weekend!
    Gordana 🙂

    • Visiting Plitvice lakes was my main reason for travelling of Croatia last year. Here, you find yourself so close to the water and nature and also to one’s inner self. I am glad that the pictures bring back fond memories of childhood. Have a great weekend too 🙂

  4. An emerald lake, how beautiful! We’re also going to Croatia in July on a motorcycle tour. My husband is wanting to see Roman history, but I prefer nature!

    • Hi, thanks so much for the nomination which I understand is an important award. I have decided not to pursue or accept any nomination / award during my retirement and for this reason, I have already turned down all similar awards. Knowing that my blog is read in many places of the world (over 160 countries) is already my biggest reward. With regret, I have to decline the nomination. Thank you once again for the nomination which is very much appreciated! Best wishes to you also, Michael

  5. I almost forgot that I’ve been here but was struck by the familiarity of the name. How could I?? We had driven quite a bit that afternoon – from Starigrad-Paklenica to Zadar before we decided to make a stop by Plitvice Lakes. Mmm, I’m going to re-visit my pics from Croatia. Thanks for the reminder!
