The Stone Forest (or Shilin, in Mandarin), in Kunming, is a beautiful park with limestone formations.
The tall rocks in the park seem to emanate from the ground in the manner of stalagmites, with many looking like petrified trees thus creating the illusion of a forest made of stone.
Since 2007, two parts of the site, the Naigu Stone Forest and Suogeyi Village, have been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Sites as part of the South China Karst] The site is classified as a AAAAA-Class tourist site.
The view of the stalagmites, the blossoms and the lake together formed beautiful pictures.
We were delighted to be there when there wasn’t a lot of tourists ( I have successfully kept the tourists outside my pictures!)
