Weekly Photo Challenge: Cover Art (4)

I don’t know whether I would ever publish a book.

If I do so, it will be a book on my travels.

One of these books will be on my travels to the various parts of China, showing it in all its beauty.

This photo will be my cover to the book.

Have seen many photos of the Great Wall before – many of them have a hazy background, and, may be a bit of green hills.

I like this photo as it shows the color foliage in the background, not much haze, a beautiful fortress, the wall snaking up the hills and not many visitors.

I count myself blessed on that afternoon to be hiking on this stretch of the Great Wall – the Mutianyiu.

It was the best of time!

Buildings wrapped up with photos and paintings?

HONG KONG — One of this city’s first-ever public art installations has been unveiled, courtesy of Louis Vuitton and artist Richard Prince, who has wrapped the Hong Kong Museum of Art with enlarged replicas of pulp-fiction novel covers.
The installation, which takes its theme from Prince’s “After Dark” series, heralded a significant exhibition of paintings, photographs and video installations collectively called “Louis Vuitton: A Passion for Creation” that was displayed inside the Museum of Art.

Located along the Tsim Sha Tsui promenade, the Museum of Art is one of Victoria Harbour’s most recognizable landmarks. Prince has covered the entire exterior with printed fabrics featuring bright colors and animated graphics. Each panel illustrates after-midnight stories in different cities around the world, with every other panel representing Hong Kong After Dark. The images are created using “rephotography,” a process Prince described as “resemblance more than reproduction. A rephotograph is essentially an appropriation of what’s already real about an existing image and an attempt to add on or additionalize this reality onto something more real — a virtuoso reality.”

Don’t think I have sufficient material to write a good book on Annecy, France.

I like this medieval town in France, with a waterway going through it and the pastel color buildings on the sides of the waterway.

Of course, there is the Annecy lake which is so picturesque.

If I ever write a book on Annecy, this will be my Cover photo.

The castle (which was actually a prison) stands in the middle of the waterway. Two birds were gliding past – what a sight!

The challenge for this week from the Daily Post is Cover Art.

Hokkaido, Japan s a place that I will never be tired of visiting.

It is beautiful, picturesque and peaceful.

If  I were to publish a book about it, this photo will be the cover.

Color foliage, peaceful lake with tree branches in the dark blue water!

Jellyfishes at Monterey, USA (3)

These jellyfishes are almost invisible.

They are thin and almost transparent.

I can only see the faint outline of their bodies.

They float on water as if souls float in the atmosphere.

But they are beautiful!

Impressions of Autumn (5)

The Autumn views in Hokkaido are quite different from those of say, Shirakawa- go in Japan which I have uploaded in my last post.

Here are a couple of forest view which I have taken in Hokkaido. They were taken in the middle of nowhere – we were just passing through on our way to the next destination.

Not too many of the leaves in trees have changed their color.

A couple of trees with yellow leaves stood out; they were a stark contrast with the trees in the background.

Sometimes, I feel a bit of melancholy with the colors of Autumn, however, they look beautiful – romantically beautiful!

One of the the best Autumn views I ever have was at Shirakawa-go, Japan.

Color foliage was everywhere as we strolled in the valley with A-frame farm houses.

The sight by the river was all the more colorful and peaceful.

Autumn was in the air, they made a joyful note!
