Weekly Photo Challenge: Warmth

I have always hated cold.

I like sitting by the side of a fireplace (I can accept the modern ones with imitation fire flickering ), reading a book.

This picture was taken at the top of the hill behind Dubrovnik.DSCF0997

We were up there for a meal of the roasted lamb.

See how the fire burns, it radiates heat and fills the place with warmth!

  1. I love fireplaces too. The whole family spent last night in front of the wood stove playing board games. There is something soothing about wood heat.

    • The restaurant offered to take us up to the mountain behind Dubrovnik and on the way enjoying the fantastic view, the alternative was to take the cable car. The place was cosy, the lamb wasn’t bad but less than expected!

  2. There have been times during our travels where we wanted the warmth of a fire. When the sun sets when you are at the southern end of the world or at 4,000m elevation, cold air is soon to follow. The seats closest to the fire in restaurants are coveted.
