Weekly Photo Challenge: Depth

Usually, I will try to submit several entries on the WPC’s weekly theme.

The first entry is usually about something which immediately comes to mind when reading the Daily Press ‘s WPC.

Then, I would go for a search in my archive to see what else can be submitted as well.

For this week’s challenge, the view from the top of a mountain on the Langkawi island, Malaysia immediately came to mind.DSC_0290

We were up on this mountain and the cable car brought us even higher up. From the top of the mountain, we saw a deep valley below and as a background, we have the blue sea separated by a layer of white clouds from the equally blue sky.

The steeply rising hill contrasts quite a bit with the valley below!

  1. Gosh! What a view! What a fascinating image too – I love the slightly surrealistic effect of the angle of the shot in conjuction with the blue shadow on the mountainside and the hazy blue of the sea and sky 🙂

  2. Amazing! I love the contrast between the mountain and the valley below juxtaposed with the lack of contrast between the sea and the sky. If you hadn’t explained it, I would never have realized that both sea and sky were there.
