New Zealand is very photogenic, I guess wherever you point your camera, you have a great picture.
The picture was taken by my wife in the Tongariro National Park, New Zealand, on a day when they hiked for 8 hours.
I have never hiked for 8 hours continuous. To me, it is a big challenge.
Again, the clouds and the lake look fantastic!
Amazing beauty.
Nice to hear from you again!
You welcome .Have a merry Christmas.
Have a Merry Christmas to you too!
At last I’ve been somewhere from this blog. I’ve done the Tongariro crossing. I was used to hiking in the Lake District so it was no bother. That lake is stunning.
I would like to visit Lake District one day!
Stunning – well worth the hike.
Thank you 🙂
Stunning capture and wow, 8 hours hiking that is a challenge to take. Admire your wife for her bravery to take up this trip.
Even her nephew (aged 19) refused to walk any long hours the next day after the long walk!
Ha!!! I can’t blame him for opting out of more hiking.
I wouldn’t be able to survive 8 hours of hiking in those cold and icy environment!
Ha! you can manage it if you have made it if you have the will, my friend. Have a wonderful weekend with your family.
I need some training before I can do it. Merry Christmas to you!
A Merry Christmas to you and your family.
🙂
Gorgeous photo! Looks like a nice spot for a picnic 🙂 ♥ ❤
Yes, I am sure it is.
I remember it’s an amazing hike through all kinds of terrain, and I also remember that the lake in your photo is very smelly (rotten eggs). Your wife was brave to get so close for a good shot.
Cheers!
Yes, rotten smell from the hydrogen sulphide. My wife has also taken some photos of the volcano mouth!
She is dedicated!
Yes, she is; she will be home for Christmas!
Well, Merry Christmas to the both of you 🙂
Thank you! Same to you and your loved ones 🙂
Congratulations on the hike! Now it’s time to up it to 10 hours, then 12. The most I hiked continuously was 22! But I was much younger, and even then next morning I felt like I’d been hit by a truck.
Wow! 22 hours – that’s unthinkable – you must be an athlete!
