Weekly Photo Challenge: Vibrant ( The Dance )

This week’s DP photo challenge is Vibrant.

Immediately come to mind is this picture taken in “Shangrila”, Yunnan in China.

We were up at a high altitude where air is thin and hail was falling outside.DSC_0106

These dancers, who were dressed in colored costumes were performing their dance in a very lively manner.

While I was not able to take better photos to illustrate their motion; I would say they were just Vibrant!

Weekly Photo Challenge : Optimistic ( Green Evironment)

As long as we have clean water and a green environment, I am optimistic about our future.

This picture was taken in Panorellea Park in Cairns, Australia. CIMG0573

It clearly shows how green the environment can be.

The waterfall gives hope that there will be clean water for the future.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Optimistic ( Up on the Mountain )

When you are tired and wearied and you know there is still a long way to go.

This is how it feels up on the mountains in Plover Cove, Hong Kong.

The sun is setting, there is a clear trail down the mountain.DSCN6517

You know that you have to make your way down before the sun finally sets.

With the light in front, you are Optimistic, as there is a guiding light.

PS The picture was taken by my friend CP Chan, the post is inspired by his trail walk up the mountain.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Optimistic ( Blooming Flowers)

These flowers remind me of early Spring.

They bloom around Lunar New Year, when everything seems to come back to life.

The photo of these flowers was taken in Kadoorie Farm, Hong Kong in early Spring.DSCF6057

They are known as Hanging Bells locally but maybe called Chandeliers elsewhere.

I remain optimistic that Spring is not far behind.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Optimistic ( Flowers at Morges)

The sight of flowers blossoming in Spring always makes me happy.

While we have soft hail here, I am optimistic that Spring will come soon.DSCF0026

This  image always come to mind; it was taken in Morges, Switzerland.

While tulips in Amsterdam are are abundant, I rather like these at Morges.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Optimistic ( Jesus Light )

I am not a preacher.

The illness of mom in the last year has made me all the more aware how helpless one can be. How weak and hopeless one can become.

I hope this weakness can bring me closer to God and I hope that mom can be physically healed.DSC_0267

While walking along the shoreline of Okinawa, I spotted light coming down from the sky (heaven?)

They look as if they are ” Jesus Light”.

They seem to be telling me that I should be optimistic or at least to take one day at a time ( my friend Equinoxio21 whom I met on this blog have iterated this to me).DSC_0281

Quoting the words of the Bible:

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

So, follow the light!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Optimistic (Sunrise)

We just have the coldest day in 60 years!

There was snow cum rain in the Tai Mo Shan (mountain) which fell to -5 degrees last night.

There were reports of the same elsewhere;  frost was reported on the lower grounds.

I can only blame global warming which has brought us extreme weather throughout the world.

Snow was never heard of in Hong Kong.

However, I know I have to be optimistic.DSC_0388

The view of sun rise has always brought me hope and even faith in God. This picture was taken in Langkawi, Malaysia.

Let’s be Optimistic and hope that everything will be back to normal in a few days’ time.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Optimistic ( Yellow Flowers )

This week’s DP Photo Challenge is Optimistic.

Frost or even snow is predicted for the next two days.

You may say this is very common; but here in a subtropical region, this is really uncommon.DSCF6060

However, I am optimistic that it will come and go away quickly, and Spring is just round the corner!

The photo was taken at Kadoorie Farm, Hong Kong.

Naked Man To Jump From Roof ?

Here are two photos of a naked man on the roof top.

They are in fact sculptures on the roof top. The photos were taken yesterday in the premise of the Asia Society Center, Hong Kong.IMG_1511

The South China Morning Posts reported that :

The “Naked Man” sculptures by a world famous artist mounted on the rooftop of buildings in Central Hong Kong have sparked calls to the police from citizens who mistook them for suicide attempts.IMG_1509

The 31 life-sized sculptures by UK artist Antony Gormley, part of the public art installation Event Horizon, confused some passers-by who thought they were witnessing someone about to jump off a building – the most common way of committing suicide in Hong Kong.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Alphabet ( More Spring Couplets)

Strangely enough, I don’t have many photos with Alphabets; maybe only some with ancient alphabets taken in Egypt and Turkey.

Here are two more Spring Couplets which hopefully would send some good omen around.FullSizeRender

The one on the left is for wishing good health – the first two characters on the top is Body and the lower two characters is Healthy. This is one of the most common couplet posted up during Lunar New Year wishing people Good Health in the coming year.

The one on the right is less commonly seen. The top character is luck and fortune. The second is Cup, the third Full and the fourth Overflowing . So, when taken together, they mean the cup of good luck is overflowing to the brink.
