Here are a few photos I have taken with my first generation of compact electronic camera with only 4 pixels.
The top two show a panoramic view of the lavender fields in Furano, Japan.
It is a place you would just like to stay on forever until it becomes dark and the day is done.
The bottom picture was taken just before it becomes too dark.
So beautifully fragrant!
Thank you, Ruth!
Just beautiful, Michael. I bet it smells wonderful there too.

Yes, fragrant as one reader puts it!
So richly beautiful. I didn’t expect the location to be Japan!
Hokkaido looks like Europe in some ways!
So beautiful!
Thank you!
When I was in Furano, the lavender had already gone but there were so many other beautiful flowers, I didn’t mind that much. I remember the smell of the whole place – it was amazing. I hope I’ll be able to visit again sometime and see the lavender fields your photos show so beautifully.
I had to be there twice to see the lavender and other flowers.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who missed them then 😉
How often have you been to Japan?
Sorry, I cannot recall how many times I have visited Japan. My trips now focus on areas which I have not visited before – like Tateyama Kurobe and more recently Shikoku – filling in the gaps.
So beautiful! No word can describe it…
Nice to hear from you again, Helen!
Simply gorgeous Michael! What time of year was that? We’re thinking of going next year and would like to see it in full bloom 😊
Hi, please see my post https://retireediary.wordpress.com/2012/08/23/patchwork-road-rolling-hills-in-hokkaido-japan/
There is a link at the bottom which gives you the schedule of the flowers. Regards, Michael
Stunning capture, Michael.
Glad that you like it!
