Birds in Namibia

Here are photos of some of the birds which my wife has taken earlier last month in Namibia, Africa.P1030626

Not surprisingly, I am not able to identify the names of any of these birds.P1030483

While I can name a few of the local birds here in HK, these birds are beyond my recognition.P1030687

If you know the names of these birds, hope you would be kind enough to share.P1030685

Thank you!P1030627

  1. The top and bottom photos of the all grey bird are go-away-birds (Corythaixoides concolor). They are named this because of their call. The second to the last bird looks similar to a peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus) but the coloring is a little off. Do you know it the bird was the size of a hawk or the size of a robin? Give me a little while and I will try to id it and the rest.

  2. Beautiful photos! I’m not an expert on Namibian birds, so I’m not completely sure, but I have a few guesses. I think the first and last photos are Grey Go-away-birds, I can’t quite tell what the second one is, the third is a Crimson-breasted Shrike, and the fourth is probably a Red-necked Falcon.
