How nice. The very idea of sampans sounds so “vintage” and adventurous.
We still have some sampans but not as vintage as previous.
I imagine. I do think it is important to preserve some. It will be part of the younger generations’ heritage.
The old sampan has a sort of shelter at one end. They can now found in our Heritage Museum.
Made a mental note for my future trip to Hong-Kong. 😉
Hope to see you one day in Hong Kong 🙂
Don’t hold your breath, it is a long way, but I am seriously thinking of setting up a long Asia trip. You will be the first to know.
Understand it is a trip which needs good planning and takes a while to materialize . . . . it will be a long trip for you.
Just to think of flight time and my (bad) back, makes me shiver a bit… 😉
The minimum, non-stop flight time from the West Coast to Asia is about 13 hours. This may be cut in two halves by visiting Hawaii en route to Japan or Taiwan.
Do you have enough points to upgrade to Premium Economy or even Business. I could only sleep on the plane on a Business Class – which I can no longer afford.
Unfortunately I don’t have much points left. 🙂 And my back does kill me on a plane. ‘t’s all right. Used to it. What I might have to do is devise a plane-hopping trip. Mexico-California. California-Hawai, etc… I might need two years to do that. 😉
Take your time; sometimes planning for a trip is as interesting as the trip itself.
Stunning photo, Michael!
Glad that you like it!
An unfinished bridge? 🙂
A pier for sampans in shallow water.
