I think it is what it is called too, I am more familiar with the Chinese name.
Ok. I’m about to post on this three. Here we call it Semal Tree and it blooms in spring season. 🙂
I want to take photos of the whole tree with flowers and not just the flowers with bird.
Are they very common in your city, Michael? Sorry, to be asking…which city do you live in?
They are common in my city – Hong Kong. Sometimes, they are called the Hero Tree.
Oh Great. Will need your help, then. I’ll be visiting Hong Kong very soon. It’ll be great if you can suggest me some offbeat but good places to get a feel of Hong Kong as well get a feel of Chinese town and areas.
Try out the Outlying Islands which is less than an hour away by inexpensive public ferries from the Central Piers – you may like Lamma Island or the Cheng Chau Island.
Try going to the Man Mo Temple in Central too.
Thanks Michael for great tips. Is there any other mode through which we can connect? email.. Or social media ?
There is also a water village known as Tai O on Lantau Island – which people say has some resemblance to Venice. You may like to visit it too.
My email address is block8alai@gmail.com
My mind always wanders too . . . . .
Another great photo Michael. An almost perfect instantaneous composition.
So sometimes all you need is luck. 🙂 (And a good zoom)
Yes, it is needed for getting so much details.
That would be the only reason for me to get another – real – camera. The zoom. But then it means bulk and weight… 😦
My wife uses a Panasonic DMC FZ300 which has a good zoom, light, with “bursts” – so that she can take wild animals in Africa, 4K resolution, constant 2.8F and weather proof. Only drawback is the lenses are not interchangeable. Price is very reasonable.
I’ll look it up. Thank you. (xie xie) 😉
There is also a new Sony product known as HX350 which can zoom up to 1000mm
Does it fit in a back trouser pocket? 😉
Sorry, they are too big for the pocket. . . .
That’s my problem. 😉
Some cameras which have great zooms are quite small too, I still have to find a good one.
let me know when you find one that fits in one’s back pocket. 😉
Classic photo, beautiful. Is this bird a Blue Magpie?
Sorry, I don’t quite know the name for it in English.
such a beautiful photo – like an old Japanese painting
Very true!
Silk cotton tree? Is it in bloom? Here it is in full bloom
