I need to go there one day; don’t know when though.
Yes you do. You will like it. Go in June. Or September. Not July of August.
Will have a good look at the Japanese footbridge while there!
The bridge is a copy. But the house is full of japanese woodblock prints.
I saw some really good looking Japanese bridge like the ones he painted in Japan.
The bridge is inspired. But I think it is locally made. Also to me I saw Giverny in a very different way. It is but 20-30 kms away from our old Normandy house. So there were “interferences”. 🙂
You probably can choose an off-peak time to go when there were fewer visitors? Someday, I will take some good photos there, hopefully, reflective of what Monet painted.
There was an expo at l’Orangerie a few years back of the same bridge, painted over and over again by Monet, as he was losing his sight. Quite impressive and sad. I think the paintings came from various collections and had never been put together in a sequence
That’s very interesting 🙂
I have seen many of his water lilies put together.
The leaves appear purple due to his poor eye sight too.
Beautiful.
Thank you !
Happy New Year
Happy New Year to you too!

Thank you!
Looks chilly! Happy New Year! Trust 2018 is kind to you!
Best wishes to you in 2018!
Many thanks!
🙂
Reminds me of Giverny…
