Was this place in some movie a couple of years ago?
This place was in the movie Inferno: http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/istanbuls-basilica-cistern-on-silver-screen-with-inferno-104831
I see, thanks for the link!
The place was rather dark; not quite the same as in the movie.
Very nucely done !
Spelling correction Very nicely done !
When I last went to Istanbul 2 years ago, I really
Wanted to visit but time ran out.
How was your visit?
I am happy to have gone there before all these political movements and instability in Turkey. On my trip I have witnessed some procession of protest too. The trip itself was amazing.
Great photo. Sadly I missed visiting there when we were in Istanbul a few years ago.
We didn’t know what’s in there which turned out to be photogenic 🙂
I love this picture and just regret that I did not take any photos when I was there in 2007 on a cruise.
I think the book Angels and Demons ended the story there too.
Love the history.
Nice to hear from you and the information!
Me too! I so want to go back there, and I live a 4 hour flight from Istanbul. But every time I want to visit something happens, and we get a bit wary.
My Turkish colleague keeps saying it’s nothing. But then she’s from there.
Go there next time. a good place for a perfect picture!
