Intresting. Here in Mexico it would be the day of the dead on Nov. 2nd, where people go to the graveyards and clean the graves, make offerings of food and drink.
That’s what we do here in HK too. It also includes burning of offerings to the ancestors in accordance with old Chinese practice – cause of many hill fires.
In fact, there is another festival known as Chung Yang in which we do the same.
Now with my parents both passed, these festivals take on a deeper meaning!
