I am sure some of dad’s burden was inflicted having to raise us.
I don’t know about your particular circumstances, but I think that is part of a parent’s… both responsibility and joy. Not so much of burden. 🙂
My dad has contracted tuberculosis during WWII and afterwards which was an incurable disease at that time in HK.
He was struggling to work and raising us – I couldn’t see he has been enjoying his time.
