Funny I have never used the term hood!
Probably, when I speak English, there are also traces of British accent which I don’t even realize.
I’m sure you do. Or in your spelling. You probably write Theatre, not theater, neighbour, not neighbor. 🙂
Yes, centre instead of center, loo instead of toilet, lift not elevator. All those words with “our” instead of “or”, like harbour!
Indeed. So I wrote before. Then I went to the US for Graduate school and worked with Americans a lot, so my spelling is now a bit screwed up. 🙂
Are you back home already?
With your background, you would have a high chance of mixing French, Spanish with English and American English!
Yes, we are back 🙂
Welcome back. 🙂 Hope all is well?
Wife has not gone for any medical check up; so no news is good news. HK is dying. We have booked for a Rhine Cruise April next year.
Let’s take the no news as good news. 🙂
Why do you say HK is dying? (I can imagine but…)
The rioters are destroying the infrastructure and shops. The Pan Dems are paralysing the Legco. The Chief Executive is incompetent, making wrong moves. The schools and universities are grooming thugs and destroyers . School boys as young as 12 came out to do violence. The judiciary is biased towards the mobs. HK with a democracy ranking of being the third and almost the most open and competitive place is going down the drain. No solution is in site after four months of violence!
That’s pretty much a summary of what is going in the world. Incompetent leaders, kids groomed to destroy, lack of balance between judiciary, executive and legislative… Dark days ahead.
All you said are very true.
It is not all that difficult to overturn a government in a so called color revolution; especially in HK where we have no soldiers.
The opponents are no better in governing; only good in opposing and paralyzing.
HK was a paradise; now, it’s hell.
Yes, dark days ahead for many countries!
Hopefully someone – unknown – will rise and reverse things. 🙂
News are now developing that the current CE ( Chief Executive ) will step down, maybe by March 2020.
Hah! What about right now? It’s like Angela Merkel who says she will step down in 2020, or 2021, or 2022? Why not now? 🙂
PRC will step in if they feel HK is not redeemable. No one in HK would like to take up such a post!
Well, let’s hope a compromise is reached.
Difficult, there is a big and deep divide in the society. It will take a generation at least to resolve it.
That is a really shiny car!
Yes, it was highly polished!
The “bonnet”? How so very british. 🙂 Americans call it the hood. Hadn’t heard the word Bonnet in years

😦
Maybe less. Things are going faster these days.
Hope so 🙏
