The problem was there was a quarantine period of 21 days when coming back; this is now reduced to 7 days ( still mean a lot to some people).
There is also a periodic ban on airlines which have been consistently bringing covid people in from abroad.

I am more concerned with catching Omicron variants in the countries I intend to visit
