Weekly Photo Challenge: Warmth (under the Sun)

How blissful it is to wake up and have breakfast under the morning sun!

As usual, we didn’t wake up early to have our breakfast when we visited the Island of Langakwi.DSC_0011

Having breakfast among the nature and listening to the soft murmurs of the sea must be one of the biggest joy in life!

It was another day in paradise ūüôā

Thank You Everyone!

I am filled with gratitude to the responses I have received to my previous post – Prayers for Mom.

At the time of writing, almost 60 responses were received.

All of them offered prayers, good wishes, blessings, healing thoughts and even positive reiki energy to mom. I know I am unable to thank each of you enough.

I am deeply moved and  would like to thank you all on behalf of mom who will be having an operation today. I know I have very kind blogging friends around me and the blogosphere is full of love.

I was much saddened when I understand my mom has cancer in her colon and that because of old age and immobility, she has decided not to undertake any treatment.DSC_0385

But it seems the good Lord has kindly showed us the way and I hope that He will increase His mercy on us and the whole world.

Eternal God, please be with my mom today as she goes through the surgery. I know we deserve nothing.

I hope , whatever happens to mom in the surgery, this is a rebirth for her.

I sincerely hope it is a day when the sun will rise with all its glory and warmth.

For this, I am showing a sunrise photo taken in Langkawi, Malaysia.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Silhouette ( Langakwi)

This image is one which I always remember.

We arrived at this restaurant which is attached to one of the hotels by the seaside in Langakwi.DSC_0224

The sun was setting, we decided to have dinner here – which turned out to be one of the most enjoyable dinners we ever had.

It wasn’t the food but the ambience¬†/ mood of the setting sun and the silhouette of the trees were just enticing.

The sun sent in its last golden rays of light, touching smoothly and softly  on whatever they found on their way Рthe leaves on the tropical trees and the grass especially.

We sat there taking in the whole scenery, as the gentle breeze caressed our faces. Our ears were full of the murmuring sound of the sea waves as they approached the beach.

Just another day in paradise!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Good Morning!

Not all mornings start with colors; although I prefer it that way.

Our mornings in Langkawi, Malaysia  have always started with colors. During the golden hours, the sky exhibited streaks of beautiful colors before it gave way to the orange color when the sun finally crept up in all its glory.DSC_0381

The views from our bungalow  in Langkawi was delightful. The image shows an adjacent bungalow in silhouette.DSC_0382

While in Hvar island, Croatia, I slipped out of the hotel early in the morning. Wandering down the harbor, I could see this only fisherman making preparation on his boat, before he set out for a fishing trip.DSCF0533

Our second day in Plitvice Lakes, Croatia started out as a misty day. The photo taken from the hotel window shows mist oozing out from the lakes below.DSCF0341

Coming back to the East, while cruising up the Yangtze River as part of the Three Gorges tour,¬†again mist was all around. Early in the morning, all I could see from the ship’s deck was a sleepy village engulfed in mist.DSCF6134

Early one morning in the open grassland of Inner Mongolia, all I could see were horses grazing on the wide plains. It was an Autumn morning; much of the grass have turned yellow.DSCF2220

Looking out from my living room is a tennis court. The courtyard was still wet from the heavy rain which fell throughout the night. Up above the hills, the clouds were hanging low but the sun has just broken through. It seemed that the sun has finally won the tug of war, rays of light were emerging.CIMG1837

The last photo was taken during our early morning walk in the Liu Shui Heung raw water reservoir in Hong Kong. It is my ideal way of starting the morning. The sun is up and illuminated the pavilion and every plant and tree in the green surrounding.CIMG2911

If we are lucky, we may have more than 30,000 mornings in our lifetime. Just hope that all our mornings are full of joy and gratitude, before a new day is unfolded.

Weekly Photo Challenge: The Golden Hour (2)

This week’s photo challenge is The Golden Hour.

In photography, the ‚Äúgolden hour‚ÄĚ is the first and last hour of sunlight of the day.

The images here were taken in the last hour of sunlight of the day in Langkawi, Malaysia.

The island of Langkawi is our favorite destination for relaxation.  We very much enjoy going out to the beach when the sun is setting and lazing around the beach until the sun finally set.DSC_0374

We like the tranquility of the beach, with the nearby islands silhouetted against an orange sky; the soothing murmurs of the sea as the gentle waves lap on the shore and also the reflection of the islands on the calm waters.DSC_0368

One of the readers commented that the Golden Hour is “La Hora Magica”. I love this in Spanish. It is indeed the magical moment. The minutes just before complete darkness sets in is even more magical. The sea and the sky have turned¬†into a darker shade, but there are colorful streaks in the sky, appearing between the darker clouds.

The scene with islands, boat, tranquil waters illuminated under the last rays of light are not just golden but magical,  dreamy and picturesque; a scene  that we wish will last forever. . . . . . . .
