This week’s DP Photo Challenge is Harmony.
This morning, we went for a walk at the Plover Cove Reservoir.
We walked along the dam separating the sea from the reservoir.
We were met by this view which to me is so harmonious.
There was a complete harmony between the sky, the clouds, the far away hills, the reflection and the people fishing on the shore!
When you are tired and wearied and you know there is still a long way to go.
This is how it feels up on the mountains in Plover Cove, Hong Kong.
The sun is setting, there is a clear trail down the mountain.
You know that you have to make your way down before the sun finally sets.
With the light in front, you are Optimistic, as there is a guiding light.
PS The picture was taken by my friend CP Chan, the post is inspired by his trail walk up the mountain.
This picture was taken just minutes before I got wet from the rain!
Depending on how you look at it, there could be many Halves.
It is a picture of half sky + hills against half water and reservoir dam.
It is a picture with the left hand side dark because of the rain clouds and the right hand side relatively brighter.
It is a picture of contrasting halves, on the right you have the fresh calm water in a reservoir reclaimed from the sea, the armour protection on the right by the side of the road access is still bright and clear. On the left, the sea was already dark and somewhat choppy.
So, this photo taken at Plover Cove Reservoir, Hong Kong contains many contrasting halves!
This week’s photo challenge at Daily Press is New.
Actually, I don’t know what I should show.
Here is a photo taken from the Plover Cove Dam in Hong Kong.
The sky was getting gloomy, but there was a lone surfer, surfing towards the horizon.
Sometimes, we know what is in front of us is dark and gloomy and that you are all alone.
But still, you are courageous enough to surf forwards, towards the brighter side on the horizon.
As in front of you, you can also see the light!

I am late for this theme but still want to submit another entry.
Not sure which photo to post first.
Both photos were taken when we walked the Plover Cove Dam in Tai Po, Hong Kong.
The first is a close up, in darker light.
The second one gives a lot more about the background. It was taken in a cove where pleasure boats will anchor and where rowing boats are on hire.
In any case, I like the rowing boats and the yellow color, they seem to be uplifting and give a feel of freedom!
Cee’s foto challenge is Small Objects.
As I am not a fan of small objects and not yet into macro photography, my archive on small subjects is limited.
This image was taken in Plover Cove , Hong Kong in the hot season when the region was frequented by typhoons (hurricanes ).
While taking photo of the island, sea and people boating in the area, I caught two dragonflies flying in the image. Dragonflies always appear before an impending typhoon.
Not only the dragonflies appear small, the sampan with two people boating and other boats in the area appear small as well.
