SanQing San (11) – Sacred Mountain

Sanqing Shan is regarded as one of the sacred mountains in Taoism.

It is difficult not to have a Taoism perspective when you are up on the mountains.DSCF0993

This is another spectacular view of the mountain taken during the hike.

Pine trees just appear as tiny on this picture.

SanQing Shan (10) – Pines

< 4 photos>

Sanqing Shan is famous for its strange rocks, strangely shaped pines and the mist.DSCF0964

My four photos here will not do justice to the scenery there, but these are the best I have got, given the short stay there.DSCF0955

Many of the pines are older than 100 years.DSCF0962

They reach out for more sunlight, more air and moisture.DSCF1013

Sanqing Shan is a UNESCO site.

For the benefit of those who are unfamiliar with Sanqing Shan ( Mountain), here is an introduction   from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

Mount Sanqing三清山) is a renowned Taoist sacred mountain located 25 miles (40 km) north of Yushan County in JianXi Province, China with outstanding scenery. Sanqing means the “Three Pure Ones” in Chinese as Mount Sanqing is made up of three main summits: Yujing, Yushui, and Yuhua, representing the Taoist trinity.

A Chinese phrase “三峰峻拔、如三清列坐其巅” (“Three steep peaks, like the Three Pure Ones sit the summits”) explains why it was named San Qing. Amongst the three hills, the Yujing hill (1817 meters above sea level) is the highest.DSCF0907

Mount Sanqing has been classified as a national park of China. It is a famous honeypot as well as a shelter for animals and plants. It contains more than 2300 species of plants and 400 species of vertebrates. The total area of Mount Sanqing is 229 km. It became a National Geopark in 2005 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008.

Herewith a picture showing the suspended boardwalk on which I hiked to the summit.

SanQing Shan (4)

Have been away for a week in JianXi, China.

One of the main activities was to climb up SanQing Shan ( Mountain).

The cable car took us to about 1,400m high, from which we hiked to the top at about 1,800m.

We saw trees, squirrels, some flowers and butterflies, the mountain formation was indeed magnificent.

On one day, we walked for more than 4 hours, covering over 15km.DSCF1009

This picture shows the head of the fairy overlooking the valley.

This is my first break after 6 months of my mom’s operation.

Thought that mom is becoming stable after the surgery; on coming back from the trip, she has a bit of maybe fibroma in her skin of her abdomen. However, we could be heading for a new challenge; hope God will assist her with her health and with her recovery after the operation.

I hope you continue to enjoy my pictures!
