  1. Thank you so much for sharing the fact that the Chinese New Year signals the beginning of spring! Of course it does — just look at those gorgeous blossoms! Blessings to you and your mum.

    • Mum recently has some pain, but maybe from a different source. She is right now happy and enjoying the festive season. Many thanks for your good wishes and Happy New Year!

    • Hi Missstilletto, many thanks for the good wishes to mum and me. This New Year means a lot to me and I cherish my time with mum. May this year brings you good luck, good health and peace of mind 🙂

  2. Happy new year to you and your family, good health to your mom. Thank you for sharing your beautiful images day after day, even in your stressful and difficult times. Much appreciated,

    • Hi, blogging helps me to take my mind off things like sickness of Mom and other difficulties; restoring my sanity somewhat. With almost 9,000 followers, I sometimes feel that I have the duty to share something interesting. Many thanks for the kind wishes and Happy New Year!

  3. Whenever i think of you, the word ‘Chairman’ always comes to my mind. i can’t resist the urge to call you “Chaiman Lai” from Chairman Mao fame. it takes a man to lead a counrty to promised land. My country Nigeria is in dire need of a good leader of that mould. Happy Chinesse New Goat/Sheep Year.

    • The transcription is interesting. It shows to me that Cantonese and Mandarin are not so remote after all: Kung becomes Gong, Fat becomes Fa, and Choy becomes Cai. It’s really a matter of evolution in pronunciation, like portuguese and spanish!
      🙂
      Have a great week-end Michael.
(My regards and best wishes to your mother)

    • Cantonese is more refined and have more sounds; mandarin is now Romanized and more widely used – they are related.
We are still not sure what steps to take with mom after the operation. Hope God will guide us 🙂

  4. 15 days the Lunar New Year are coming to an end but I thought this would be a good opportunity to wish you good fortune, prosperity, health, wealth and long life. Your photos are just lovely.
