This week’s challenge is “Fleeting”
We were hiking the eerie mountains of ZhangJiaJie in China. The mist was heavy and looked like it would stay forever.
For a fleeting moment, the mist dissipated and we have a good glimpse of the trees and the mountain behind.
However, such moments were brief. In a matter of minutes, again mist was all over us . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Michael, this place is amazing. It makes me think of Avatar.
This place is said to have inspired the production of Avatar. If interested, I have a post on “In Search of Avatar”. Regards, Michael
The Isle of Skye in Scotland is another place with unworldly scenery.
Hi Ron, would love to go there someday. Thank you 🙂
It’s like a painting, beautiful.
Yes, it looks like a painting. Thanks for the perusal 🙂

Thank you Jane for the perusal and the kind words 🙂
That’s an amazing view! Eerie pretty well describes it. But it’s beautiful, too.
Thanks Linda for the perusal and comment 🙂
A fitting photo for the fleeting challenge!
Thanks for the perusal and the comment 🙂
i like how you use the term “fleeting” to reflect the mist’s characteristics. really nice term =)
The mist wasn’t stationery; it moved, descended and ascended; contributing to a nice image. Thanks for the comment 🙂
Fleeting with grande beauty!
Thanks for the comment 🙂
How very beautiful. What wonderful memories you will carry with you always.
These are what memories are made of! Thanks for the comment 🙂
WOW.. IT IS REALLY BEAUTIFUL
Thanks very much for the nice comment 🙂
Wow, thanks for sharing. I went to Zhangjiajie too, hoping to see the misty mountains like the way they were depicted in photos, but was met with clear skies and scorching weather since I went in August. Still an amazing trip though. I ended up seeing something similar to this in Switzerland.
Hi Annie, you probably missed the misty season, but as you said, the views are still beautiful. Glad that you were able to see similar views in Switzerland. Thanks for the comment 🙂
Hi, Michael. Stunning photo, as always! 😉

Beautiful scene. I love that mist. We have it in the Great Smoky Mountains near my home, but it, too, is fleeting. I always hope that when I take visitors there, it will reappear! http://ohtheplaceswesee.com
Have seem some images of Smoky Mountains; they are also amazing. Thank you Rusha for the comment 🙂
Mist really captures the gist of “fleeting”. Beautiful photo!
Thank you Opalla for the kind comment 🙂
Great Shot Michael, it looks a little eerie 🙂

Thank you for that..
Namasté, Summer
Hi Summer, thanks so much for the nominations which I understand are important awards. I have decided not to pursue or accept any nomination / award during my retirement and for this reason, I have already turned down all similar awards. Knowing that my blog is read in many places of the world (over 160 countries) is already my biggest reward. Thanks for enjoying my posts and thinking of me for the nominations. Regards, Michael
I understand, and ofcourse I respect that. Thank you for all that you share with the whole world. Have a peaceful day
Peace is the very thing I need everyday. Thank you 🙂

Thanks for sharing your adventures through China. The photos are beautiful and the experiences, serene.
Glad that you like my photos which I am glad to share. Thank you 🙂
A beautiful photo, it suggests peace and tranquility. I bet if you climbed those hills you would find the garden of Eden.
Thank you Max, those mist covered mountains do look like Eden gardens to me, in the old legends, they are places for fairies 🙂
What a mystical photograph!
Glad that you like it. Thank you 🙂
I love this kind of look – mist and rock – beautiful!
It has a mystical feel. Thank you 🙂
Michel its really captivating, love it.

Glad that you like it. Thank you 🙂
Beautiful. Your photos make me want to visit China.
China is such a vast country and varied country, there are quite a few places worth visiting before they become too touristy. Thanks for the comment 🙂
This is s stunning shot, Michael!
Thank you for your continued perusal and support 🙂
You bet! And the same to you. 😉
Thank you 🙂
This looks a lot like a part of the area my maternal ancestors came from according to the DNA test results I took – Daic and southeast Asian roots !
It is interesting that you actually took DNA test to determine your roots. I would like to do that too. Thank you 🙂
Yes, I took a test with 23andMe.com. I also found out that I have 3% Neanderthal DNA (the average of Asians is 2.8%). It’s fascinating and I have been having a lot of fun with it.
This seems to be an interesting test. I am tempted to do one as well. Many thanks for the perusal and comment 🙂
You are welcome (^^)
