This hut is not far from where I live.
When I saw first saw the hut, it was only partially covered with climbers and was inhabited.
Several years gone by, the climbers have covered all over the hut, making it inaccessible to the inhabitants.
The inhabitants have lost the battle and the hut was abandoned.
This year, when the dry season set in, the inhabitants have come back and tried to reclaim the hut. They started cutting off the vines at their roots and removing the climbers as much as possible, leaving part of the roof and the door exposed
This is how it looks now – I am still not sure who will eventually win this tug-of-war!
Morning Micheal.
I like old places like this. I always wonder that grand stories they might tell.
Morning Mythrider, I think I am a curious person, I also always wonder what happened in the past!
I enjoyed the story and now I am also wondering this war of humans and nature. I hope they can gain access to their home. Peace, Barbara
They have access to the hut now; I will wait for the next summer before I can be convinced. Regards, Michael
I love little hid-away places like this. My grandmother taught me how to build a hut out of tall switchgrass when I was young. We built them and spent 14-16 hours a day in them during the summer. It was such fun.
Wow! I like the idea of a hut made out of switchgrass – I have missed things like this in my childhood. Regards, Michael
Too bad kids aren’t allowed to be kids anymore due to evil people in the world. I remember not having to report to my parents until just before dark. Kids have to be watched closely today. Anyway, it’s never too late to be a kid. 🙂
Think it is a good time to revert to be kids in my retirement!
I try to play as often as I can slip away from life’s duties. I still love the outdoors.
I love outdoors too but Winter keeps me more indoors! Regards, Michael
Wow. This reminds me of seeing a ship reck on a scuba dive and seeing the new coral and fish that have made it their home.
Seeing coral / fish in a dive will be much more interesting than seeing my image! Regards, Michael
Interesting place. Thanks for sharing.
Irene
To be more convincing I should also show the image with the whole hut covered with climbers – not sure where my image’s gone Have a great weekend!
Wish you a great weekend too!
🙂
These kind of places feels like time travelling! Beautiful and intriguing.
Thanks so much for the comment; hope you are doing well!
Just think of the stories the walls could tell!
Those will be interesting stories!
Mother Nature never loses, she just bides her time! Beautiful shot.
I am sure you are right; they will have a never ending job combating the climbers. Have a great weekend!
Great photo that shows how the pyramids and ancient cities are easily taken over by the jungles! Soon the hut will just disappear…
I became interested in things like this after visiting Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Regards, Michael
Your photo show that nature is a powerful force! I’m not sure the inhabitants will win this battle, but I’d be interested in seeing the hut again if they clear away more climbers.
I will post again if the inhabitants manage to clear all the climbers!
Nature will win I am sure.
You are probably right!
Looks a lot like backyards here in the northern parts of the Philippines.
Hi, this is an area which was previously planted with bananas!
It will be interesting to see who wins. Man vs. Nature. 🙂
Yes, Man vs Nature is really interesting. Regards, Michael
I like the air of mystery that comes with abandoned….. Thanks for your likes on my blog, let me know what you think of some of the posts! 🙂
Your posts are great! I am glad that you are so active and positive. Regards, Michael
Many thanks, Michael! You get out of life what you put in, don’t you think!
I agree entirely!
I think nature eventually always wins! We all turn to dust again and go back into the ground.
Yes, from dust we will turn to dust!
🙂
I love how nature is reclaiming its territory… Very nice 🙂
Human can only defer the action of nature. Regards, Michael
Great manmade AND natural colors.
Thank you naomimgruer; have a Merry Christmas!
