This is the first time I photographed within a temple in Hong Kong.
Just yesterday, I was testing my new camera at the Man Mo Temple along Hollywood Road on Hong Kong Island.
I was fascinated by the light coming at an angle onto the interior of the temple, the smoke from the spiral incense and also from the joy sticks – in the end I took many photos of the scene which seem very colorful and surreal to me.
Here, I am only showing the spiral incense photo as an entry to this week’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Twist.
Please enjoy π
I’m pretty sure we were in this temple. Went back more than once as it was splendid.
Great to hear from you. Would like to be there another time, to catch the sun ray coming in between the pans (collecting the ashes of the incense) and shoot again!
Like the colors
Wonderful mix of colors. Thank you!
I ave only seen these incense coils in their boxes ready for sale great to see them like this. Beautiful shot and yr new camera ? : )
I am testing the Fuji X-T1, it seems to be an object of desire!
: ))

I really liked this photo! The colors that appear in the photo are lovely!
Red, blue tint from the smoke, yellow from the spiral incense, warm colors of the lanterns . . . .
Reblogged this on ugiridharaprasad.
Thanks for reblogging this on!
Fabulous light and colour.
Very nice interplay between light and color indeed!
This is beautiful. Wonderful colors and detail and great depth of field.
Very glad that you like the picture. Thank you!
What an evocative picture, I can practically smell the incense…hmm…sandalwood and myrrh? Gorgeous lighting.
I have pictures with the smoke floating around, would show them in due course!
Great, I shall look out for that!

Ah, great interpretation of the challenge. Love the vivid colours. Your photo reminds me of my childhood when my parents would burn these twisty incense things outside at night on the balcony in Malaysia to ward off mosquitoes.
We have miniature spiral incense for warding off Mosquitos too but is now less commonly used!
Amazing picture… and looks like it would have been an amazing adventure to have been there to take the picture. π
I was surprised that photo taking was allowed inside the temple. I will show more photos of the light ray and smoke clouds form the incense and joy sticks in due course π
I love the colours and light in this photo!
Glad that you like the colors / light. Regards, Michael
PERFECT!
Thanks for the kind comment π
I am enjoying all your interpretations of the theme “twisted”. π
Thanks very much for perusing all my post for this theme π
I love the way the colours work so well with the light and shade
Thanks for the kind comment π
They look great with the light’s angles…and the fragrance reaches my nose even here, a bit far π
Will post more on this subject soon!
Perfect for this challenge!
Thank you for the kind words!
Beautiful. The colors are stunning.
Nice to hear from you, dharmaanchor!
