Weekly Photo Challenge: Twist(ed Incense)

This is the first time I photographed within a temple in Hong Kong.

Just yesterday, I was testing my new camera at the Man Mo Temple along Hollywood Road on Hong Kong Island.DSCF0118

I was fascinated by the light coming at an angle onto the interior of the temple, the smoke from the spiral incense and also from the joy sticks – in the end I took many photos of the scene which seem very colorful and surreal to me.

Here, I am only showing the spiral incense photo as an entry to this week’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Twist.

Please enjoy πŸ™‚

    • Great to hear from you. Would like to be there another time, to catch the sun ray coming in between the pans (collecting the ashes of the incense) and shoot again!

  1. Ah, great interpretation of the challenge. Love the vivid colours. Your photo reminds me of my childhood when my parents would burn these twisty incense things outside at night on the balcony in Malaysia to ward off mosquitoes.

  2. Amazing picture… and looks like it would have been an amazing adventure to have been there to take the picture. πŸ˜€

    • I was surprised that photo taking was allowed inside the temple. I will show more photos of the light ray and smoke clouds form the incense and joy sticks in due course πŸ™‚
