Autumn has gone but memories of our trip to South Korea still linger.
When we reached the Deoksugung palace in Seoul, there was a changing of the guards. Although it was not as spectacular as the changing of the guards at the Tower of London, nevertheless, it attracted big crowds of spectators.
Deoksugung is a walled compound of palaces in Seoul that was inhabited by royalties around the turn of the 20th century.
The buildings are of varying construction, including some of natural crytomeria wood, painted wood, and stucco.
The palace buildings are impressive. We have a good look around the area.
Autumn was in the air; trees were changing their color.
There was a spectrum of colors in the fall foliage; from green, yellow, gold and even red.
Beautiful views were every where. The fall foliage looked particularly colorful when viewed against the palace walls.
While many of the foliage were gold or still green, some have already changed to red.
We have a delightful stroll within the palace; passing by a pond, before finishing off our walk.
Understand that there are five palaces in Seoul. I did not have the opportunity to visit the other four palaces, but I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the colors of Autumn at Deoksugung!
It looks so serene. Much different than Kyeongbokgung that I visited. I like this 🙂
I didn’t have time to visit the other palaces, glad that I have done this one. Regards, Michael
We loved this ‘Changing of the Guard’ ceremony in Seoul. Aren’t they wonderful to watch?
It certainly is quite different to the British ones; it is wonderful. Regards, Michael

Autumn leaf close-ups can be surprisingly difficult, but that one is gorgeous!
yes, it is not easy to shot leaves at close distance. Thanks very much!
The exterior of the palace looks a lot like that of a beautiful temple that was very near where I used to live, in Tacoma, Washington state, USA. I was always so happy to see its unexpected beauty as I went past it!
Glad that you sometimes pass by this beautiful temple, sure you enjoy the view. Regards, Michael
the fall colors suggest peace. soothing to the eyes. love the architecural details and colors.
Hi lolaWi, the Korean architecture seems to differ somewhat from both the Chinese and Japanese ones. Thank you for liking the photo 🙂
You see beauty all around you, Michael — and once again, you have used your camera to collect it and share it with us. Thanks!
